With filming of Avengers 2 drawing closer, more and more news about is being released to the Marvel fans. Samuel L. Jackson a.k.a. S.H.I.E.L.D. Commander Nick Fury has confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that the Elizabeth Olsen has joined the cast for the movie. She will be playing the roll of Scarlet Witch.
“I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch],” Jackson told the news website. Jackson also revealed that the film will start shooting by March 2014. Avengers: Age Of Ultron is expected to be released May 1st, 2015.
According to reports, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play Quicksilver. If you’re not familiar with the Marvel Universe, The Scarlet Witch is Magneto’s daughter, a “mutant” who has the power to project “hexes,” her twin brother is the speedy Mutant Quicksilver. Quicksilver will also appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past, coming out in summer of 2014.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson sat down with Total Film in August and had this to say, “There’s years – over 50 years – of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch ] have been abandoned by their parents and their father, and they grew up in Eastern Europe defending and looking out for themselves and each other. His sister really is his guidance – emotionally she’s the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He’s very overprotective physically – he doesn’t want anyone touching her.”
