Paul Patton feels like a real woman, and we couldn’t be happier for her. Today in an interview on the Meredith Vieira Show, Patton said “I went from my parent’s house to moving in with Robin, and now I’m becoming an adult, I’m really, like a real woman now.” The interview is embedded below via YouTube.
Her divorce from singer Robin Thicke is now final, and she is moving on with her life.
Patton, 39, separated from Thicke in February 2014. At the time it had been reported in the media that Thicke was damaging their marriage with his alcohol abuse and infidelity. “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” Patton told People at the time.
Thicke tried to win her back. He made public apologies and even went as far as making musical tributes to her, but in the end she filed for divorce last October anyway.
She told “Good Morning America” earlier this month that the past year has been difficult but that the couple’s four-year-old son Julian Fuego helped her through it. “I mean, the honest truth is, it has been challenging. But it’s been a year of growth, lots of healing, learning about all new things,” she told GMA. “The truth is, you can’t wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child,” she added. “And they’re so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy.”
We wish both parties involved the best.
Robin Thicke is also dealing with professional issues as well. He and Pharrell Williams‘ lost when the verdit in the “Blurred Lines” trial came down last week. A Los Angeles jury ruled that the singers’ hit song did infringe on Marvin Gaye‘s “Got to Give It Up” and “Sexy Ways” by Funkadelic. The jury awarded Gaye’s children $4 million in damages, plus profits that Thicke and Williams made from the song, for a grand total of $7.4 million.
